Various surgical procedures are being carried out, ranging from simplest ASD closure to a complex transposition, or single ventricle to bizarre positional anomalies including on small neonates and new born babies with low birth weight.

Some of the complex operations are - repair of TAPVC, complete AV canal defect and Arterial Switch Operation, Senning and Rastelli procedures, single stage unifocalization and single stage repair for complex anomalies associated with arch obstruction. We have introduced new techniques like arterial switch operation for TGA with two and single coronary artery anomalies, ALCAPA repair, single stage Unifocalization and single stage correction for complex anomalies. This is a distinguished unit in perfecting the techniques of trans-atrial repair of double outlet right ventricle and Tetralogy of Fallot. Some of the problems are corrected from the more cosmetically appealing route, posterior right thoracotomy and mini sternotomy especially in young female patients. The unit handles more and more of neonatal surgery including Neonatal cardiac emergencies.

	Dr. K. S. Murthy Dr. K.S. Murthy has got his training in cardiac surgery in the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He had advanced training in pediatric cardiac surgery in Green Lane hospital, Auckland, New Zealand. He worked as a consultant and head of the department of pediatric cardiac surgery at the Institute of Cardio Vascular diseases, Madras Medical Mission, Chennai for 13 years. He has performed over 6,000 cardiac surgical procedures including complex congenital procedures on the newborn babies with results comparable to the best in the world. He brings with him, expertise of rare kind. His main interests are arterial switch operation,
single stage unifocalization and single stage repair of intracardiac anomalies associated with arch obstruction. He is the only pediatric cardiac surgeon in the country who performs single stage unifocalization, which is the second largest number in the world. He has presented many scientific papers in the national and international conferences and published many articles in national and international journals. He is a peer review committee member for the prestigious journal Annals of Thoracic Surgery. He has more than 100 scientific publications. He has written a chapter on unifocalization in the textbook of advances in cardiac surgery (Mosby – Year Book, Inc.) He has operated many patients not only from India but also from foreign countries such as Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania and Middle East countries. He has trained many Cardiac Surgeons in India as well as Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Kenya, Uganda, China, Iraq etc. He has performed many surgeries for the under privilege children totally free of cost with the help of voluntary organisations. He has conducted many free cardiac checks up camps for children and educational programs in various states of the country to impart awareness and educating the pediatricians and cardiologists about the problems related to congenital cardiac diseases. Similar programs were held in other developing countries like Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, and Nigeria. He has many innovative techniques in pediatric cardiac surgery to his credit. He performed many live surgical demonstrations in India and abroad. He is a skillful surgeon with novel ideas and excellent academic background. He is the head of the department of pediatric cardiac surgery in Innova Children’s Heart Hospital.

	Prof. I. M. Rao He got Cardiac Surgery training from the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, Green lane hospital, Auckland, New Zealand and Milwaukee, USA. He worked as a professor of Cardiac Surgery in All India Institute of Medical Sciences, as also Al Mafraq Hospital, UAE. He is a visiting professor in Oregon health sciences, University of Portland, Colombia Presbyterian Hospital, New York Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital Boston, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, USA, Royal Children’s Hospital, Melbourne, Australia and Green Lane Hospital, Auckland, New Zeeland. He is an examiner in Madras University, Postgraduate
Institute of Medical Sciences, Chandigarh, Sanjay Gandhi PGI, Lucknow, Kanpur University and National board of Examinations. He is on the advisory committee in the Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi and Sree Chitra Tirunal Medical Institute Trivendrum.

	Dr. D. Anil Kumar He got Cardiac Surgery training from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. He received advanced training in Pediatric cardiac surgery in Stanford Children’s Hospital, USA. He also worked as a consultant in Al Mafraq Hospital, Abu Dhabi (UAE) and Apollo Hospital, Hyderabad. He has many years of experience in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery. Besides presenting several scientific papers in national and International conferences, he also published many articles in national and international journals.

	Dr. Sunil Kumar Swain He also received his cardiac Surgery training from All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. Later he dedicated his specialized services to Pediatric Cardiac surgery and developed rare skills to achieve excellent results. He worked as a consultant pediatric cardiac surgeon at Apollo Children’s Heart Hospital, Hyderabad. He also presented many scientific papers in both national and international conferences, besides publishing many papers in reputed bulletins.

	Dr. Pramod Reddy K He underwent Cardiac surgery training from B.J. Medical College, Pune. He completed his graduation and post graduation from Bombay University. He has additional qualifications - D.N.B in cardiac surgery and general surgery. He later developed immense interest in Pediatric Cardiac Surgery. He worked as a consultant at Apollo Children’s Heart Hospital, Hyderabad. Being a skillful surgeon, he has performed many surgeries safely. He also has many national and international scientific publications and presentations in conferences to his credit.

	Dr. Suresh B Kale Dr. Suresh B Kale is currently working as a consultant in pediatric cardiac surgery and has returned from New Zealand after a two year exclusive Pediatric Cardiac Surgery training at The Starship Greenlane Childrens Hospital, Auckland. He has gained considerable experience in the evaluation and management of neonates and infants with a variety of complex congenital heart diseases including arterial switch operations and Norwood procedures. He has also undergone basic ECMO training at the same institute. Earlier he has worked at the Royal Melbourne Hospital in Melbourne, Australia for more than a year and trained in total arterial revascularization, bilateral radial artery use and variety of adult thoracic procedures done through VATS. Earlier, he graduated from Karnataka Medical College, Hubli and underwent postgraduate training in General Surgery from Government Medical College, Bellary. After a successful general surgery
practice for a year in Rajasthan, he later pursued his Cardiac Surgery Training [MCh and DNB] at Bombay Hospital, Institute of Medical Science & Research center, Mumbai. He has participated in various national and international conferences, has published work of interest in both National & International journals and is active in research.

	Dr. Vivek Babu He had graduation and post graduation in general surgery from prestigious Medical Institute JIPMER, Pondicherry. Later he got his cardiac surgery training (M.CH) in Sri Chitra Tirunal Institute for medical Sciences and Technology (SCIMST), Trivandrum, a premier national institute. He had good experience in intra operative & Post operative management of wide range of cardiac, Thoracic & Vascular procedures. He received many prestigious awards in JIMPER for academic excellence. He has many scientific presentations to his credit in national conferences, and publications.
